Maryvonne Schiltz
Maryvonne Schiltz belongs to that generation of actresses who accompanied the rise of French television from the 1970s onward. Trained in theatre, she entered the audiovisual landscape at a time when the ORTF still structured production and when major historical dramas were experiencing a true golden age. She took part in several notable series, including Richelieu, le Cardinal de Velours in 1977, which helped introduce her to a wider audience. Over the decades, she moved through the many transformations of the small screen: the end of state‑run television, the arrival of private channels, and later the boom of TV movies and police series in the 1990s and 2000s. At the same time, she maintained steady work in cinema, often in secondary but finely crafted roles that reflect her loyalty to demanding directors. Her career mirrors the history of a profession in constant evolution, and that of a performer who managed to adapt without ever abandoning the discipline of theatrical acting.
