Eva Oh
Eva Oh, widely recognized by her professional moniker ‘Mistress Eva,’ has established herself as a notable figure in the realm of sexuality and BDSM. Her career boasts multiple achievements, including being honored with a Sexual Freedom Award and serving as the face of the German Fetish Ball. Among her pioneering contributions is the creation of the world’s first submissive training platform youwillpleaseme.com, the #teakink series and Teas, and the award winning Safeword Podcast. Eva’s extensive professional journey spans strategic development, ethnographic research, sustainable design, social work, production and performance art. Her insight and perspective have garnered attention from prestigious media outlets such as The Washington Post, WIRED, Rolling Stone, InStyle, Entrepreneur, Newsweek, VICE, i-D, DAZED, and Slutever. A passionate advocate for the destigmatization of sexuality, BDSM culture and sex work, Eva is an active voice in promoting open dialogues. She has participated in panels at the Berlin Porn Film Festival, PinkFest Singapore, and Burning Man USA. Furthermore, Eva extends her expertise through mentoring and consultancy, providing guidance to those seeking to benefit from her extensive experience. Eva’s journey took an intriguing turn in 2011 when she encountered a clash of values within the corporate sector. This pivotal moment led her to embark on a journey of exploration, training as a Professional Dominatrix at the renowned Salon Kitty’s Dungeons in Sydney, Australia under the mentorship of Head Mistress Amanda. During this time, she also gained valuable experience in various aspects of the sex industry, including roles as an Escort, Brothel Worker, and Massage Worker. In 2018, she published an informative guide in both English and Japanese, tailored to individuals working in these sectors. An updated Guide-Memoir is in development. While her professional path has shifted toward her personal practice in Lifestyle Domination, Eva remains deeply committed to education. Leveraging the power of new media, she launched the #teakink podcast, inviting listeners to delve into the unfiltered interviews and stories of her life and work. Her engagement extends to thought-provoking Q&A sessions on social media, tackling themes like ‘Race and Kink,’ ‘BDSM and Religion,’ and ‘Submissive Men and Society.’ Eva’s efforts in the media spotlight play a crucial role in fostering public understanding, destigmatization, and the eventual decriminalization of sex work. Her journey has also taken a cinematic turn, beginning with her film debut ‘Grief Encounter,’ a collaboration with Ellen Pearson and Kitty Drake that explores themes of grief, death, and seduction. Premiering on Erika Lust’s XConfessions channel in 2022, the film received recognition, including the prestigious Baron Art Prize 2022 and a festival premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. She has since worked on two additional films for Erika Lust, further expanding her presence in erotic cinema. Beyond her work in sexuality, and media, Eva is dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices in the arts. She serves as a trustee of RAW (Rediscovering Art by Women), a charity committed to reviving and celebrating the works of overlooked female artists.
