His breakthrough came at age eight in Disney's The Kid (2000), where he starred opposite Bruce Willis. He went on to become a recognizable child star with roles in Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat (2003), The Santa Clause 2 (2002) and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006, as Curtis the Elf alongside Tim Allen), Raising Helen (2004), The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), The Shaggy Dog (2006), Harold (2008), and The Happening (2008).
