**Aishani Shetty** (born 15 April 1995) is an acclaimed Indian actress, director, and writer who primarily works in Kannada cinema. Known for her expressive performances and creative versatility, she has established herself as a notable young talent both in front of and behind the camera in the Sandalwood industry. Born in Puttur, Karnataka, and raised in Bengaluru, she pursued a strong academic foundation alongside her artistic interests. She completed her early education at Bishop Cotton Girls' School and her undergraduate studies at Jyoti Nivas College. Demonstrating her commitment to her education, she later took a brief hiatus from her rising acting career to earn a Master's degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from St. Joseph's College, Bengaluru. Aishani made her feature film debut in 2014 with *Jyothi Alias Kothi Raja*. However, her major cinematic breakthrough arrived the following year when she was cast as Ritu in Yogaraj Bhat's hit romantic comedy *Vaastu Prakaara* (2015). Her charming and relatable performance brought her widespread recognition and earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the IIFA Utsavam Awards. She followed this success by starring opposite Sathish Ninasam in *Rocket* (2015), a film where she also showcased her musical abilities by making her playback singing debut with the track "Thannage Idvi". Balancing her academic milestones with cinema, she successfully returned to the silver screen with a string of prominent roles in character-driven films. She delivered well-received performances in the romantic drama *Naduve Antaravirali* (2018), *Nam Gani B.Com Pass* (2019), the neo-noir crime thriller *Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage* (2022), and the nostalgic coming-of-age drama *Hondisi Bareyiri* (2023). Expanding her creative footprint beyond acting, Aishani made a highly successful transition to filmmaking with her directorial debut, the 2019 short film *Kaaji*. Exploring poignant social themes regarding marginalized communities, the film was officially screened at numerous international film festivals and garnered widespread critical acclaim. For her directorial work, she won multiple prestigious accolades, including the Best Film award in the short film category at the SIIMA Awards and the Best Debutant Director award at the Pink City International Film Festival.
