In 2018, he secured election to the Federal Senate representing the state of Rio de Janeiro, and was later institutionalized as the Liberal Party (PL) candidate for the 2026 presidential election. His national political trajectory and public exposure have involved various corporate and financial examinations. Federal audits and police investigations scrutinized financial practices and corporate asset handlings throughout his public tenure.
