Hikari Shiina
Hikari Shiina (born 18 November 1994) is a Japanese artist known for her work as a model, singer, and prominent figure in Japanese alternative culture. She began her career in 2009, when she was discovered while attending secondary school and made her debut as a model for youth magazines, including Popteen. Her style combines gyaru fashion with elements of otaku culture, cosplay, and dark aesthetics. In December 2012, she debuted as a singer under the stage name Shiina Pikarin, adopting a concept inspired by the demon world. Her performances are notable for incorporating death growls, energetic movements, and elements of rock and metal, which are relatively uncommon in the traditional idol scene. In October 2018, she began using Hikari Shiina as her stage name. In addition to her music career, she has participated in projects related to anime, video games, and cosplay. In May 2023, she launched her own fashion brand, Grrr the Lipper, characterized by a dark, bold, and alternative aesthetic. She was also the vocalist of the all-female band KILLT MELT LAND, which was formed in 2023 and disbanded in August 2025. Hikari has continued to pursue her musical and artistic career, maintaining her distinctive identity within Japan's alternative scene.
